But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (2 Corinthians 4:7 NIV)
Jars of clay were the cheap everyday vessels to stick stuff in. Kind of like paper cups. Not the place you would expect to put treasure. But God puts the treasure of his glory in us! (2 Corinthians 4:6)
We don’t seem very impressive, but we are the repository of God’s treasure! We aren’t powerful – except that God expresses his power through us! God invests his wealth in paper people!
We will be exploring this theme in 2 Corinthians 1-7 over four Sunday mornings starting Sunday 27 January.
